volunteers: 30 hours of volunteer time is a commitment you have made in order for your child to attend Wasatch Peak Academy. These hours may be done in the classroom, at home, within the school, or broken up between teachers. The link above provides you with hours I have designated for volunteers within the classroom for that month. I encourage you to get on at the beginning of the month to sign up for times that work best for you. At home volunteer hours will be sent out via email as needed. Those hours are first come first serve. If for any reason you cannot make a time you signed up for, please let me know as soon as possible, so another parent may take your place, or I can arrange my schedule for that day. classroom supply donations count as 30 minutes of volunteer time. i generally do not accept drop in parents to volunteer as i need time to prepare lessons for you.
Birthdays: Per school policy we are not allowed to have treats to celebrate birthdays. As an alternative if you would like to come read a story to the class on the date of your child's birthday, we would love to have you! We also have had parents come in and bring a craft to do with the class. If you are interested in doing a short 15-20 minute craft or read a book please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Homework Policy: I send home a weekly book to read for literacy practice. You will find the focus of the week for literacy at the bottom of the title page. I also send home a weekly math packet for review of our lessons of the week. These are passed out on monday and expected to be returned on friday's. homework is optional, but highly encouraged. homework should take no more than ten minutes a day. Wasatch peak academy also requires 20 minutes of reading every day on top of any homework given.
